Job Description
Administrative Assistant to the Director of Special Education and Social Emotional Learning Location Westford, MA : Job goal: Perform a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks of various degrees of complexity under minimal supervision for the Director of Special Education and Social Emotional Learning. Essential duties: * Work collaboratively with the Director of Special Education and Social Emotional Learning with the daily operation of the department* Welcome all public visitors in a positive, professional and welcoming manner* Assist in the accurate and timely completion of reports* Maintain databases for several programs * Generate purchase orders and track receipts and payments* Maintain the Director's calendar and scheduling of meetings* Interact with and handle inquiries from all level of Central Office staff, school buildings, School Committee and the public* Responsible for assisting in the grant procuring process, tracking Federal and State grants and completing progress updates/final financial reports* Collect and submit timesheets for select personnel * Initiatives and tracks purchase orders for special education supplies and contractors* Collaborates with the Business Office in regards to all grant awards and spending * Assists the Office with all areas of IEP compliance, including maintaining accurate records in Powerschool* Maintains an accurate database of all out of district student placement and spending * Exercise sound judgement in handling confidential and sensitive information Experience/qualifications: * Minimum of two years of college coursework, Associates Degree preferred* Three to five years of strong office support, or other relevant experience* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google platforms, Munis and Powerschool* Ability to recognize and resolve issues with minimal assistance * Experience with public school environment is preferredPosition type: Full year (12 months)
