Job Description/Summary

Commercial Drivers are critical members of our team, ensuring the safe and dependable transport of Buttery Products to our valued customers. This position is tasked with driving and maintaining trucks that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our team of dispatchers to plan and track deliveries. 

Responsibilities:

  • Operating and driving trucks with GVRW of 80,000 pounds
  • Maintaining detailed driving and delivery logs in compliance with state and federal regulations (Electronic Driver Log)
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch to plan delivery routes and schedules
  • Complying with FMCSR rules and regulations
  • Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
  • Maintain a safe driver record
  • Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
  • Perform daily maintenance of truck (Refueling)
  • Ensuring load contents are securely packed, organized and accurate
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure the order is complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied
  • Transport and deliver items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner
  • Prepare reports and other documents relative to deliveries
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service, answering questions and handling complaints from clients
  • Performs pre and post trip inspections
  • Record deliveries accurately and completely

Qualifications:

  • Possess and maintain a valid Class A driver's license
  • Pass a background check, drug screen, and driving record check
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance record
  • Strong time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items from extended periods
  • Attention to details
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportations laws
  • Be able to work variable hours which may include weekends, holidays
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
